Biography

 

Slovenian flutist Vita Benko is best known for her touching musicality, soulful sound and very expressive manner of playing. Convincing musical approach in her interpretations led her to perform in venues and festivals all across Europe and Asia. She currently plays with orchestras Philharmonie Salzburg and Salzburg Chamber Soloists.

Vita Benko graduated from University Mozarteum Salzburg where she studied with professors I. Grafenauer, H. Wiese and P. Taballione.

She is a first prize winner of Savarez-Corelli international chamber music competition and was awarded a scholarship for outstanding achievements from the University Mozarteum Salzburg also received ZOIS Scholarship from Slovenian government during her studies and was a protégé of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation.

As a member of Ljubljana International Orchestra she took a part in RCO meets Europe-"side by side project" where she performed with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under D. Gatti.

Passionate about chamber music, she regularly performs with different ensembles in Austria and abroad. She performed at Borusan Music Hause Istanbul, Audi Sommerkonzerte, Mozartwoche, Schloss Arenberg, Festival Lent, Tartini Festival, Klaviersommer Wasserburg, Le Pin Galant France and Festival BachZeit Mondsee.

In addition to performing as a soloists, chamber artist and orchestral musician, she also enjoys teaching her private flute class and loves to spend her free time at the seaside discovering beauty of the nature.
